CALL TO ORDER

Due to the Declaration of Emergency, this meeting is being held pursuant to authorization from the Governor’s Executive Orders. Some or all of the city council members may participate in this meeting by teleconference as authorized by Executive Order N-29-20 issued by the Governor of California on March 17, 2020.


Pursuant to Imperial County Public Health Department guidelines, City Council meetings are now open for public attendance at 100% of capacity of the council chambers and all persons entering City Hall will be required to wear a facemask. 

Public participation will continue to be available in the following ways: Members of the public are encouraged to watch the meeting via live stream at http://communityspectrum.org/live/  at 6:30 p.m. or via the Calexico City Hall Facebook page at:  https://www.facebook.com/CityofCalexicoCA

Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways1) In-person 2) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 to ggarcia@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.  These comments will be read aloud during the meeting.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PUBLIC APPEARANCES

NOTE:  (Not to Exceed 3 Minutes) This is the time for the public to address the City Council on any item not appearing on the agenda that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. However, If the item you wish to comment on is a consent item, please comment now. During the current State of Emergency public comments will be received in the following ways: ways 1) In-person comments - The Mayor will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record.  While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks.  2) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 to ggarcia@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.  Any comments received during or after the meeting will be distributed to the City Council and retained for the official record. The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda.

All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are to be considered routine by the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency or Calexico Financing Authority and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed. Any item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately by the City Council.

  1. Approval of City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/Calexico Financing Authority Minutes for Meetings of February 3, 2021, April 21, 2021 and March 30, 2021.

8. Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of Calexico, CA Approving an Intent to Collaborate with S&T Capital and the Calexico Unified School District for the Potential Development of New Commercial Sites Along Highway 98 Corridor and Intersection of Kloke Avenue; More Specifically Known as Assessor Parcel Numbers: 058-852-011, 058-852-009, 058-852-004, 058-853-002, and 058-853-001.

9. Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Sign the Attached Lease Agreement with Rosa Maria Barajas.

10. Authorize City Manager to Sign Surface Use Agreement between the City of Calexico and Sonoma Technology, Inc. for the Installation and Operation of a Temporary Air Monitoring Station at APN No. 058-400-097.

11. Authorize City Manager to File Notice of Completion for Repair of One (1) Sewer Manhole at the Intersection of Imperial Avenue and Sixth Street.

12. Approve Letter Requesting Modification to Hours of Operation at the Calexico East Port of Entry.

13. Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution for Reallocation of Resources from the City Manager/Housing and Economic Development Department to the Police Department.

14. Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Approving the City’s Use of American Rescue Plan Act Funds for the, 1) Replacement of the City’s Public Safety Vehicles, and 2) Authorizing the Issuance of a Request for Proposal.
